WILLIE T. BODIE, JR "Bodie" was born on January 23,1953 in Tallahatchie, Mississippi to the union of the late Willie T. and Joanna Bodie. Bodie was one of nine children of which 3 Sisters preceded him in death.

Bodie confessed in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Union Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. William Johnson in Chicago, Illinois.

Bodie attended schools in the Chicago Public School System where he attended Bryant Public School, Mason Upper Grade Center and Marshall High School.

Bodie met Diane Mitchell on July 4, 1971, they were united in holy matrimony October 12, 1974 to this union 2 children were born. 

1971-2002 Bodie was employed by Sky Chef for 30 years which was owned by American Airlines until he was injured and was no longer able to work.

Bodie joined First Baptist Institutional Church under the leadership of O. E. Piper as well as the current Pastor Aaron Brasfield Jr.

Bodie was a Deacon of the Church until his health failed him.

Bodie attended Brotherhood, traveled with the church to Brotherhood Conferences.

Bodie made his transition to be with the Lord on April 23, 2026 at 8:27 p.m.

Bodie leaves to cherish His loving Wife: Diane Bodie of 52 years; A son: Laquantas Bodie of Albuquerque, N.M.; A daughter Jowanna Bodie of Bolingbrook, Illinois,; Three Grand Daughters Breanna Ridley of Oak Park, Illinois, Anissa (Micheal) Saavedra of Albuquerque, N.M., Tyanna (Rahsaan) Easter of Justice, Illinois; A Grandson Malique Bodie of Queens, N.Y.; Two Great Grand Daughter: Azaria Savedra of Albuquerque, N.M., Cayenne of Oak Park, Illinois; Five Great Grandsons: One which preceded him in death, Anthony and Angelo Saavedra of Albuquerque, N.M., Ka'Marion and Kar'Mello Easter of Justice, Illinois.,; Two sisters: Mae (Reginald) Peals, Barbara Bodie of Chicago, Illinois,; Three Brothers: Henry Bodie of Chicago, Illinois, Kennedy and Micheal (Lisa Bodie of Albuquerque, N.M.,; Seven nephews: Three which preceded him in death, Five nieces: 10 Great Grand Nephews and 6 Great Grand Nieces; A Brother-In-Law: Calvin Mitchell (Corliss); Four Aunts: Elnor Williamson of Jackson, Mississippi, Dannie McDuffy and Bobbie Golliday of South Dakota:; A Uncle Percy Mabry Sr. of Jackson, Mississippi. A host of cousins and friends. One God Daughter Debra Harrison (Zoe)
