Deacon Walter E. Taylor was born on April 1, 1933 in Greenberg Alabama to the union of Walter and Estelle Taylor.
Deacon Taylor attended Shiloh High-School in Greenberg Alabama. He accepted Christ at a young age and joined the Antioch Baptist church in Alabama. He later join Elizabeth Baptist church In Alabama were his mom was also a member.
Deacon Taylor met the love of his life Essie Taylor ( whom proceeded him in death) they were joined in holy matrimony in 1954. To this union four children were raised; Sheila Rancher, Walter Taylor Jr. Annette Taylor and Terrell Taylor. Deacon Taylor came to Chicago to find work and make a better life for him and his family. Once he was settled, he moved his family from Alabama to Chicago. He was first employed at a Coal company in Chicago IL. He Later became employed at Kotler Industry where he remained for 40 years until he retired.
Deacon Taylor had a passion for photography, fishing and Hunting. He loved photography so much that he opened his own business the W.W Taylor Studio in Chicago where he employed family members.
Deacon Taylor joined the Union M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Wallace. Doing Pastor Wallace’s leadership he became a Deacon. Deacon Taylor has served as a deacon for over 50years at Union M.B Church. Doing this time as Deacon He served under the late Pastor Wallace, the late Pastor Moore, the late Pastor Henry Simmons and the current Pastor Raymond L Hillman.
Deacon Taylor was a very special man of God. He was loved by so many.
He was always willing to do the work of the lord by visiting the sick, taking members communion, and providing prayer. He will give his last and literally the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Deacon Taylor departed this life on July 25, 2021. He was proceeded in death by his wife Essie Taylor; his parents Walter and Estelle Taylor, his sister Mary Taylor, his brothers Hubbard, Joe, and Jack Taylor.
Deacon Taylor leaves to Cherish his memory: his daughters; Sheila Rancher and Annette Taylor, His sons; Walter Taylor Jr and Terrell Taylor; His sister Mattie White; His Grand-children: Tamika Hillman (Raymond), Derrick Taylor ( Keisha), Kendra London, Johnny Hicks and Diane Taylor; his Great grand-children: David James, Javon London, Daeshon Taylor, Raven Hillman, Rayjah Hillman, Very Special Friend James King and a host of nieces, nephews, family and Friends.
