Rufus Page Sr. was born in Laurel, Mississippi on February 10, 1927 to the parentage of Lonnie and Leland Page. He was the youngest of six children. Rufus received his secular education in Laurel, Mississippi.
Upon his relocation to Chicago after having served in the United States Army, where he was Honorably Discharged. Rufus shortly thereafter met the love of his life, Rose Kyles. Rose's stunning looks and personality drew him to her like a moth to a flame. Their courtship was a whirlwind that ended in Holy Matrimony. The flame lasted for over 55 years until God called Rufus home. To this union two children were born, Pamela and Wardell.
Rufus was a resourceful man in his employment endeavors, being employed with the Chicago Police Department. He also worked and retired from Campbell Soup Company. After retiring, Rufus continued with his skills and knowledge of Plumbing, Heating and Electrical and started his own enterprise.
Family was everything to Rufus. He provided and cared for his immediate family and the extended family as though they were his natural children.
Rufus parents and his five siblings preceded him in death. His health had been declining for some years according to man; however, God had the last say. God saw that his steps were faltering and slowing to the point that God come on home my servant on Friday afternoon of October 18, 2019.
Rufus leaves cherish him with fond memories, a loving and devoted wife, Rose. Two sons, Rufus, Jr. of Champaign, IL and Wardell aka "Poncho" of Chicago, IL. Four daughters, Carol of Erie, PA., Shanika (Pete) of Jackson, MS., Pamela (Earl) of Menden Hall, MS. And Divina of Chicago, IL. Sixteen Grand Children, Ten Great Grandchildren. One Mother-In-Law, Lucy Kyles. One Brother-In-Law, Lee Edward. Three Sisters-In-Laws, Annie Hayes and Christine Farmer. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends
