Norman Berry Sr. was born on January 20, 1939. He was the third oldest child of Theodore and Nancy Berry. Three of his siblings preceded him in eternal life: Roland Berry, Edward Berry and Elsie Bonds. He and his wife, Mamie, were married for 64 ½ years and from this union three sons were born.
Norman confessed Christ at an early age and later was re-baptized in 1999 and attended New Mt. Moriah M.B. Church. He attended Crain High School and enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He worked at Adolph Plating for five years and began his career in 1959 working at Fisher & Body, later acquired by General Motors where he was employed for 28 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local Union 558 and retired as a Maintenance Engineer in 1987. He was well-known as the plant jokester and always had a story to tell.
Norman leaves to mourn his loving wife, Mamie, three sons, Terrance (Andrea), Norman Jr. (aka Coggie), and Parnell; two grandkids, Emeka Foster (Cory), Terrance Berry Jr., (Taylor); two great grandkids, Kemia (who preceded him), Dakota, and Desira along with a host of relatives and friends.
