With profound sadness, Mildred Louise Garner-Traywick took her final breath on May 2, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. After succumbing to her battle with breast cancer.
Mildred was born on December 12, 1925 to the parents of Hosea and Nora Garner, in Memphis Tennessee. She met and married George Traywick in 1945. She moved to Chicago where she worked in the retail and manufacturing sector.
Mildred had a deep love for books, she was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. Her love for her family was shown in the Sunday’s meal that she enjoyed cooking for her family.
Mildred was predeceased in death by her parents Hosea and Nora Garner, her husband, George, her sister Vesta, her brother Hosea, Jr. along with her youngest child, Derrick.
Mildred is survived by her youngest sister, Deborah along with her children: Louise, James (Sina), Edward Sr., Phineas Jr. (Jacqueline), Michael, Melody. As well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
Mildred lived a full and loving life as wife, mother, and grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. The family will like to express their gratitude and appreciate for all the kind words, prayers and hugs during their time of grief.
