Mable Lewis, also affectionately known as “Mama”, “Grandma”, “Aunt Mable” & “Honey” passed away in her home on February 27th, 2021 at the age of 91.
Mable Lewis was born on October 20th, 1929 in Tucker, Arkansas to Ida Mae Mitchell & Willie Tillman. In her early 20’s, she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she laid the foundation of what would become our family. She was an amazing, hard-working, strong, intelligent no-nonsense wife & mother that loved & cared for her family deeply as well as those she considered “like family”. Mable was a strong believer in GOD & acknowledged his presence in her life as well as taught her children & grandchildren the power of prayer. The loss of her presence will always be deeply felt but the love she gave us & the values she instilled in us all will be just as deeply felt forever. She was an angel in all our lives & now a guardian angel looking over us from above. She will be missed more than words can express.
Mable was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton; her son Ronnie; her brother Robert & her first born grandchild, Antonio Sr. She is survived by her children, Arthia, Rosemarie, John Sr. (Sandra), Denise & Genice; her sister, Dorothy; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews & friends.
