Leronza Demorris Moore was born on January 9, 1979 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, to his proud parents, Jennifer Moore and Wayne Germany. He was the oldest of four children. He became a member of Holly Spring MBC in Chicago, IL in 1989 under the leadership of the late Pastor T. Jernigan. At Holly Spring MBC, Pastor Moore taught Sunday school, was active in the choir, worked with the youth of the church, and worked with the community. Even as a child, he felt a calling to the Lord. He started a choir with the neighborhood children and would often lead them to Holly Springs on Sunday mornings.
Pastor Moore attended Brian Piccolo Elementary and Lucy Flowers High School, then graduated from Lawrence Hall High School. In his teens he found his own path and listened to the Lord calling him to preach. He began to educate himself in the word, eventually gaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theological Studies from United Faith College in 2011.
Pastor Moore was a dedicated family man. On August 20, 2005, Pastor Moore married Missionary Shalonda Moore, and together they raised four beautiful children. This dynamic man of God dedicated his life to family, church and community while constantly teaching and preaching the Word of God.
Pastor Moore received his call to the ministry and preached his first sermon in March of 2005. While acting under the leadership of Pastor Jernigan, Pastor Moore received his minister license. He was ordained in October of 2009, and shortly after was elevated as the shepherd of New Macedonia MBC. In his 12 years as Pastor of New Macedonia, Pastor Moore was a pillar of the neighborhood. He made it his mission to have the church support the community. His outreach initiatives include the Back To School Picnic/BBQ, Annual Christmas Toy Drive and weekly Feed-The-Community programs. He was very focused on the youth and worked tirelessly to involve them in the church. He was a father figure to several children.
Pastor Moore was always willing to allow the church to support those in need. Whether it be for weddings, funerals, baby showers, or even other church services, Pastor Moore made sure the church doors were always open.
Pastor Moore enjoyed exploring the world, often traveling to different places. He especially loved Mississippi, often speaking with a southern drawl. Pastor Moore was an optimistic, fun loving person, often cracking jokes and playing tricks on friends and family alike. He also loved to eat and dance.
Pastor Leronza D. Moore heard the voice of Jesus saying "Peace Be Thine" and he closed his loving eyes and departed this world to receive his reward on January 19, 2021.
