Lena Mae Williams

Lena Mae Williams was born in Sunflower, Mississippi to the late Lula Mathew and John Henry Turner on March 3, 1953. She was the 7th of 10 children four of whom preceded her in death (James, Ervin, David, and Cynthia)

In 1979 she married the late David Williams. This union produced three children Shannon, Desmond, and Danna (who preceded her in death) will receive her in heaven.

At an early age Lena received Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Her church home was The Upper Room MBC under the leadership of Rev. Thatcher. Later in life she devoted her Sunday morning watching R. D. Hebron and most recently Joel Osteen.

Lena worked as a home care provider for many years until her most recent retirement. Passionately known as “Old Grandma” Lena loved and was truly loved and adored by her grand children and great-grand children.

On August 23, 2019 Lena was called home.She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Shannon (Mark) and Desmond; Sisters: Betty, Barbara, Bernice, and Gloria; Brother: Henry Lee; Seven grandchildren: Mary, Monique, Rashiek, Pasha, Daikira, Davion, and Desmond; Eight great grandchildren: Jalene, Rene Jr., Effie, Lataya, RaySean, Rashawn Jr., Jesus’ and Jamal who preceded her in death. She also leaves a host of In-Laws, Nieces, Nephews, Relatives, and Friends.
