Larry Knox Obituary

Larry James Knox II was born on September 25, 1974  to Lorna Lynette Brown and Larry James Knox Sr. whom they affectionately nicknamed Boo in Chicago, Illinois.

Larry attended Oscar Mayer Elementary School. He graduated from Charles A. Prosser Vocational High School in 1992.  He also took courses at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois.  Larry has always had the passion and motivation to better himself with every job that he held. His most recent position was as an Advocate Senior Representative at United Healthcare.

Boo accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age at Sure Foundation Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend James Clark. Even though he didn’t have a church home, he kept the Lord close to his heart and in his home.

Throughout your life, you want to feel a connection with someone that will love you through every stage in your life.  He found that when he met Chnice in 1993.  He would refer to her as “The Gorgeous One”.  They were married on October 15, 1995 and to that union 3 beautiful children were born; Ajanice, Brea, and Christian.  Larry was a great provider, husband and father. He loved his family and would teach them how to be a better person than him.  Larry loved to travel and often went to the Caribbean Islands where he was affectionately known as Mobay Knox. He was a kid at heart as Disney World was one of the happiest places on Earth for him.

When you had a conversation with Boo, you couldn’t help but feel inspired, encouraged, motivated, and loved.  He was definitely the life of the party! He always made you smile or laugh because of his silly dances, or catch phrases (SHABBA!)  Boo had such a sweet, genuine spirit and it just radiated any room he was in.

Larry made his transition on Sunday Aug 22, 2021at 4:30 p.m.  Even though his family wasn’t there physically, they were there via Zoom.

Larry was received in Heaven by his Parents Lorna and Larry Sr. His Maternal grandparents Jack and Lorene Brown and his Paternal Grandparents Willie and Marthella Knox. His great niece Kenyatta Latrice Knox-Beckwith and his cousin Larry Evans II (PeeWee).

Larry leaves to cherish his memory: His Life Partner and Wife Chnice Watson, His Legacies, Ajanice Arianna Knox, Brea Enice Irene Watson-Knox, and Christian James Knox.  His Older Brother, Curtis Nelson (Burlington, IA), His Older Sister La Shonda Brown (West Carrollton, OH), his Younger Sisters LaTacha Knox (Chicago, IL), Lynette (Carl) Lawrence (Montgomery, AL).  His Sister in law Ayana Nolan (Chicago, IL), and Brother in laws Michael Morris (Minneapolis, MN) and Malik Morris (Duluth, MN), his mother in law Patricia Watson (Duluth, MN).  He also leaves his Nieces: Mia, Ca’Nedra, Dae’Zhanae, Jolie, Ja’Naiya, and Chelsey.  His nephews Diatre, Keanu, Darius, James III, Curtis Jr, Kenneth IV.  His great nieces Ka’Liyah, Wynter, and Autumn.  His Aunts, Jacqueline Stewart (Elkton, MD) Venetia (Walter) Murrell (Peoria, AZ), Patricia (Earl) Bostic (Burlington, IA), Cheryl Brown and Deirdre Brown(Oak Park, Illinois).  His Uncles Robert Simmons (Chicago, IL), Rodney (Debra) Brown (Oak Park,IL), Cletus Jerome Knox, Alfred Knox (Burlington, IA), and Danny Knox (Chicago, IL).  He also leaves to cherish his memories with a  host of cousins, family and friends.
