Keenan Maxwell Morgan, affectionately known as Keno, was born on August 15, 1987, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Keenan Wesley Morgan and Azalea Louise McDonald. At just a few months old, Keenan moved with his family to Chicago, Illinois, where he was raised and built a lifetime of love, faith, and community. He passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025.
Keenan accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. His beloved grandfather, Cecil McDonald, made sure he attended church faithfully and participated in Sunday School, instilling strong Christian values and a deep love for God.
A proud graduate of Senn High School, Class of 2006, Keenan was an exceptional baseball player whose athleticism, leadership, and dedication shone on and off the field.
Keenan was a loyal and hardworking employee at Rich’s Productsfor over ten years, serving in various roles that spanned logistics to maintenance. His dedication, skill, and positive energy made him a valued and respected part of the team.
Beyond work, Keenan devoted himself to coaching and community involvement. He was the coach of the Joliet Ravens 12U football team, where his son Khalil played. Keenan brought his own creativity and spirit, introducing “FLOCK City” to the team. He inspired and mentored his players, teaching teamwork, confidence, and pride. To Keenan, the Ravens were family.
Keenan shared a deep and unwavering love with his lifelong partner, Brittney Smiley, for twenty years, and together they raised two wonderful sons, Khalil and Kash, who were the pride and joy of his life.
Keenan’s love for his family ran deep. He had a love for his mother that was unbreakable, cherished his siblings, and left a lasting impression on everyone he met with his warmth, humor, and wisdom.
He also had a special love for animals, particularly his snakes, which reflected his patient, curious, and compassionate nature.
Keenan leaves to cherish his memory his lifelong partner, Brittney Smiley; his sons, Khalil and Kash; his mother, Azalea McDonald; his father, Keenan Morgan; his siblings: Nikea (Rich), Kendall, Ariel, Amiya, Keshawn, and Keonte (Adanna); his grandmother, Pearl G. McDonald (Dwight Droney); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his entire Joliet Ravens football family.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cecil McDonald, his grandmother, Gloria Morgan, and his godfather, Melvin Maxwell.
Keenan’s light, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit continues to guide and uplift his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.
