Jessie Pearl Beck, affectionately known as “JP” was born December 26, 1945 to the proud parents of Catherine and Dennis Beck in Greenwood, Mississippi. She was the seventh eldest of nine children.
At a young age, Jessie was introduced to Christ. She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Marvin Putman.
Jessie attended MaClawn Grammar School and later excelled to Hess Upper Grade Center where she graduated. Jessie continued her education at Farragut High School where she received her diploma, but she didn’t stop there! Jessie attended college earning her PhD in Health Sciences.
Jessie loved spending time helping other anyway she could. She received various certificates of appreciation in recognition of her acts of service. She was a member of the Easter Seals.
Jessie worked at Schwab Rehab for many years and later retired.
Jessie met and married her husband, Louis Warren in July of 1971. To this union no children were born.
Jessie had a special place in her heart for all of her nieces and nephews.
Jessie was a fun, loving person. She enjoyed getting all dressed up to have a good time. You can always count on her to keep you smiling with her funny jokes, her little saying, “I need you like Kojack need a haircut,” or her very stylish way of dressing. Jessie came through matching from head to toe (literally). Jessie had a love for music and dancing, put on “Blow A Whistle by Too Short” and Jessie got the party started! No family gathering or holiday will ever be the same without her. Jessie will be missed.
Jessie departed this life on November 13, 2019 surrounded by her family. Her husband; parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; six brothers; one sister; three nieces; two nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins, all preceded her in death.
Jessie leaves to cherish her precious memories to: her loving sisters, Judith and Geraldine, both of Chicago, Illinois; grandson, Darius Tate; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to her sister, Geraldine for taking great care of her
