Jayla Kathy Mullin was born January 24, 2001 to the union of Lekia Lowery and William Mullin. She was the youngest baby girl of 9 children.
Jayla attended Small World Family Center, Lincoln Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, McArthur Middle School and Proviso Township/Pace.
Jayla loved music, she loved hanging out with friends and invited them over weekly. She was the life of the party and she even danced sometimes. She was one of the main ones who would crack jokes.
Jayla’s favorite food was Alfredo and Seafood. Her most favorite restaurant was “Cajun Boil.” Her favorite colors were black and blue. She fell in love with her 1st nephew instantly, she acted as if Yahiyness Mullins was her own son. Her second nephew born was Traveone Parks who she watched all the time.
Jayla was very protective of her cousins, she had a very special relationship with them, but there are too many to name individually. She was definitely the “Queen of the Bunch,” that brought humor and a smile everywhere.
On Sunday May 17th, 2020 at the age of 16, our Princess left her family, friends, and neighborhood she loved deeply. We will have our own date and time to reunite with her again. Her grandfathers: Nathan Lowery and William Mullin preceded her in death.
Jayla leaves to cherish her precious memories, mother: Lekia Lowery, stepfather: Tommy Berry, father: William Mullin, big sisters: Makia Mullin, Arianna White and Lakeisha Lockland, big brothers: Martuan Mullin, Marquan Mullin, Deandre Mullin, Deandre Breuer, Jadis Mullin and Quran Mullin, her grandmothers: Brenda Burnett and Shirley Mullin, step grandfather: James Chapel and a host of aunties, uncles, with special cousins, extended family and friends
