James Earl “Poo-Poo” Anderson, was returned to full communion with the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ on August 19, 2019. James, was the first of nine children born to the late Sam and Loween Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one sister, and two brothers.
James, at an early age, accepted Christ under the leadership of Rev. J. D. Thurman, then pastor of Green Grove M. B. Church.
James, received his formative education at McNair Elementary School and McNair High School in Belzoni, MS. While attending high school, he participated in football, baseball, track, and was a member of the Yearbook Staff. Upon graduating from high school, James, relocated to Chicago, IL.
On September 6, 1967, James, was inducted into the United States Army to serve his country. He received his honorable discharge on July 29, 1969. After returning from the United States Army, James, chose the career path of a truck driver, where he worked until his health failed.
On July 13, 1968, he was joined in holy matrimony to Marion Hatfield. To this union two lovely children were born. James aka “Granddaddy Buddy” loved to take his family on lavish road trips across the country and visited all 50 states. James enjoyed rhythm and blues music, in which he was an avid stepper. James affectionately loved everyone he came in contact with and nurtured them with straightforward love. His love for sports was passed down to his children and grandchildren and on any given day you could find him on the sidelines cheering them on.
James, leaves many loved ones to cherish his memories; His wife: Marion Anderson of Bellwood, IL; one son, James (Jaclynn) Anderson, Jr of Brookfield, IL; one daughter, Timika (Curtis) Anderson-Reeves of Bellwood, IL; five grandchildren, Nikolai, Tobi, Curtis “Joshua”, Raven, and Gabrielle; three sisters, Dr. Ilean A. (John) Richards of Greenville, MS, Barbaria A. Thomas of Belzoni, MS, and Sandra Anderson-Owens of Carol Stream, IL; four brothers, Sammie F. Anderson of Chicago, IL, Richard B. Anderson of Belzoni, MS, Tony C. Anderson of Freeport, IL and Wilford Hudson of Belzoni, MS.; one aunt, Lavern Davis of Chicago, IL; four sister-in-law’s, Mattie Williams of Hillside, IL, Ida Hatfield of Byram, MS, Kate (Henry) Griffin of Belzoni, MS, and Earlean (Charles) Turnbough of Milwaukee, WI; three brother-in-law’s, Willie Walton of Bellwood, IL, Willie James of Jackson, MS, and Cornelius Hatfield of Indianapolis, IN; a special sister Alma Whisenton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and family friends.
