Jacqueline E. Ingram was born March 19, 1975, to the union of Jack Jr. and JoAnn Ingram in Chicago, Illinois. Two siblings preceded her in death, sister Denise Thomas and brother Malcom Thomas and one nephew Marchon Joseph Ingram.
Jacqueline began her education at Evangelical Christian School. Jacqueline’s teachers recognized at an early age that she was an advance learner. She skipped first grade and was moved to the second grade with her older sister. Jacqueline and her siblings were transferred to Midwest Christian Academy where she graduated from eight grade in 1988. She received her diploma from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1992. She attended Concordia University in River Forest for two years. She completed both her Associate degree, as an Electronic Technician (1996) and Bachelors of Science, in Technical Management (2001) at DeVry Institute of Technology. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at Roosevelt University in 2009. Other professional certificates were awarded in Motion/Picture Production from the College of DuPage and Meeting, Convention and Exhibition Management from Roosevelt University. Jacqui was adamant about education and was generous by encouraging others to be successful as well. She tutored and taught on every level. She taught college courses at Roosevelt and DePaul University.
Jacqui’s (JJ’s) many talents shone through in both her personal and professional life. Her illustrious career in event planning eventually led her to becoming a well-known, sought after and respected television and film producer. Seeing her work come alive and being able to share her vision for this art form was truly her passion. JJ’s plans included owning her own production company and making inspiring and diverse content. JJ’s latest independent project, Honeyland, won an award at the 2024 Toronto Sketch Comedy Film Festival. More than anything, she wanted to make people laugh.
Jacqui was a well-rounded person. She was adventuresome which included traveling to different places, exploring various cultures and trying new cuisines. She loved music, too. Her love of music began as a child with singing in the children’s choir at her home church, Unity Church of God in Christ, and participating in the Bible Club which was led by Dr. Missionary Clara Williams. Jacqui took piano lessons from Dorolyn Music Academy. As an adult, she continued her love of music by singing with the Oak Park Concert Chorale under the direction of Paul Lindblad. She also sang on Sundays with St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Forest Park.
In addition to traveling, eating, playing, and working, she also was a devoted caregiver to her Grandma Honey and many others. Jacqui greatest passion was caring for her nieces and nephews. Although she loved all her nieces and nephews, she was dedicated to raising her niece, Journi, great nephew Da’Quell and great-niece Destiny (aka “JJ’s” kids).
Our dearest Jacqui departed this life on Saturday, June 8, 2024. She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her parents Jack and JoAnn Ingram; her two sisters Rosetta (Kim) Smith and Teresa (Ray) Herron, her brother Marshall Joseph Ingram; her five nieces, Beonca Thomas, Sarah (Stephen) Walker, Allyson Smith, Jasmyn Bolar, Journi Bolar; her three nephews, Brian Thomas, Jordan Ingram, Jeremiah Billups; three uncles Sanders (Aunt Ruby) Ingram, Winston Gordon, Joseph Gordon Jr; two aunts Dorothy Burnett and JoAnn Myrthil, special sister-cousins Melanie Robinson, Amber Burnett, and a host of great nieces and nephews; cousins, family and friends.
