Effie B Gage

Effie B. Gage was born February 24th, 1937, in New Madrid, Missouri to Emaline and William Frazier, she was the third child of seven children.

Effie was preceded in death by her parents and four of her siblings, Marshann Harris, William Frazier Jr, Mary Tallie and Ruthie Jones.

She received her education at Glaystone Elementary School and Washburn High School in Chicago Public School System.

She met and married the love of her life “Alfred Gage” in 1954 from this Union a son was born “Freddrick Gage” who both preceded her in death.

She was a supervisor for Bally’s Manufacturing for over 30 years, where she later retired in 1970.

Later in life she joined the Church of God, in Harvey, Illinois under the leadership of Elder EJ Washington, Jr., where she confessed God as her personal savior. During her time as a Christian, she became a Pastor Aide under the Leadership of Pastor Dennis Pennington.

Effie departed this life on June 5, 2023, at 2:30pm, she leaves to cherish her loving memory:  two sisters; Bernice and Yvonne both from Illinois; 1 bonus sister Pearl; 7 grandsons; Terrell (Gia), Freddrick, Ronald (Nina), Calvin (Tina), David, Dawon and Taqqee; 36 great grandchildren, 2grandchildren preceded her in death and a host of nieces, nephews, foster children, and friends.

Effie was a classy, beautiful, well dressed, generous women, she was known to be outspoken and slick at the tongue, she said what she meant and meant what she said. She was the mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to everyone.
