Dollie Jones, affectionately known as “D.J.” was born to the late Johnnie and Christine Gross on March 16, 1950 in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
At the age of 20 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Eddie Jones in 1969. To this union four children were born.
She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Solomon Temple C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of Elder Solomon Davis Sr. & First Lady Barbara Ann Davis. She served faithfully on the Usher Board for many years.
Dollie loved to dance and had an opportunity to display her talents with her dance group The Topics. They made two appearances on the Big Bill Hill Show and won first place in the contest in the late 60’s.
Throughout her impressive career, Dollie showcased versatility, professionalism, and a tireless work ethic across a variety of roles. She began as a dedicated sales representative at Recycled Office Furniture, where her personable nature and attention to detail made her a standout in customer service and client relations. She later served as the payroll manager at Addus Health Care, where her precision and reliability ensured that employees were always taken care of with accuracy and integrity. Dollie eventually brought her strong organizational skills and welcoming presence to Divas Tax Service, where she excelled as the front desk manager, becoming the warm, dependable face clients trusted year after year. In every position she held, Dollie brought excellence, commitment, and a heart for service that left a lasting impression
Dollie was a phenomenal mother whose love, strength, and unwavering dedication shaped the lives of her four children in the most profound ways. She nurtured them with compassion, guided them with wisdom, and inspired them through her resilience and grace. But Dollie's maternal spirit extends far beyond her own household. She was a bonus mom to her younger sister Gloria before having children of her own; also countless others, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love to anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Whether through a kind word or a listening ear, Dollie made everyone feel seen, valued, and cared for, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to ripple through generations.
