Belinda Watts was born on July 11, 1964, to the late Richard and Jacqueline Watts, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the first of four siblings. Belinda was affectionately known as “Linda Lou” by her father, and “Bamba” by special friends in the neighborhood.
Belinda grew up in the small LeClaire Courts community. She attended and graduated from Phoebe Hearst Elementary School and John F. Kennedy High School. Belinda performed various work professions in which she was a committed and dedicated worker. She devoted her entire life to her children, grandchildren, and family. In her leisure, she enjoyed singing, shopping, and as a freelance hair stylist.
Belinda accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend A. Robertson of Oldway M.B. Church in Chicago, Illinois. She continued that dedication to Christ under the leadership of Pastor A.R. Boyd at the LeClaire Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Belinda enjoyed helping others. She was known as a nurturer; she would never turn down an opportunity to help a family member, neighbor, or stranger. She was one of the most compassionate and selfless human beings that God has ever created.
On Thursday, August 15, 2024, God dispensed his angels from Heaven to relieve Belinda of her earthly realm to be at eternal rest with her twin sons: Keywon Dontra Berry and Keyon Berry; parents: Richard and Jacqueline Watts; and brother: Richard Watts Jr., who all preceded her in death.
Belinda’s legacy and love will forever be cherished by her children, sisters, grandchildren, and friends, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her three children: Lavar (Latoya) Berry, Jakea Jordan, Candace Watts, and a special daughter in love Keshia Bates; two sisters: Anissa Grant (Joseph) and Michelle Watts; eleven grandchildren: Jhaliyah, Lavareoina, Keyonna, Keyon Jr., Akira, Kash, Keywon Jr., Jaden, Amariee, Aubree, and Alayah; special friends: Darryl Thomas (Fiancé), and Bertha Wright; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
