Annie Bell Washington was born in Lula Mississippi April 13, 1927, to Young and Matti Adams. Annie was the youngest of 12 siblings.
Annie was educated in Lula Mississippi and came to Chicago as a young adult.
Annie married Willie Washington Sr. in 1952 in which two children were born: Fred Adams and Willie Washington Jr.
Annie confessed to Christ at an early age, she was deeply rooted in church.
Annie joined 1st Baptist Church in 1955 under the leadership of Rev C. Lemon.
Annie sung in the choir and was a member of the beautifying club.
Annie was also a faithful nurse, she loved her church and Pastor.
Annie would always ask ” how’s my pastor”.
Annie presented a play to the nurses board, the nurses performed a play called ” Twelve gates to the city”. It was a wonderful play that is remembered to this day.
Annie works at Curtis Candy factory until retirement.
Annie loved to cook and was known for her famous butter cookies.
Annie loved family she would often organize family functions, such as Soul food dinners and family reunion cookouts.
Proceeding Annie in death: her mother father, sibling, her two sons.
Annie Leave to cherish five grandchildren: Peggy, Marcelles, Dominique, Leticia and Willianna, 1 niece Peggy and 1 nephew James and a Host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
